The must haves!!!!!

Now that I have given a little peak into who I am... what does Desert Baby have to offer? Here is a sneak peak of the hottest items in my shop today that you may have overlooked for your lil' one:

Car Seat Coolers are my absolute must have for the spring/summer months! Kinda funny thinking about needing these since today in AZ it is 60 degrees and raining! The heat will be back before you know it and that brings burning hot seats for lil' guys. I have been working on a new design and awesome new fabrics for these, but this one has been my most popular pattern to date.


Also, super big this year is onesies and T-shirts with ties! This was an idea that I got when Trey (my oldie) was small and I wanted him to be original and cool. Ties have been the "thing" I do, but I recently had an idea while shopping (in Lowes of all places) and I will unvail it soon for lil' guys and gals everywhere. Onesies with ties evolved into T-shirts with ties, so my guys can match while we are out! Corny and yet so cute!

Car seat covers are always an awesome baby shower gift! One of my best friends gave birth to a lil' one at 27 weeks and after months in the NICU he was finally home with his family. Being a mere 5 pounds and still so new to the world, she asked me to make her something she had seen another mommy use while at a DR. office. This car seat cover was born to help keep her most precious cargo protected from weather, cheek pinchers and germs that are always floating out and about. I will always think about little Sebastian every time I make one of these and what a fantastic lil' miracle he is.

Hi there... I am Amanda. Welcome to my life.

Hello to everyone whom I have met, will meet someday or will never meet, but hopefully we cross each other's paths somehow. I am Amanda, mother of 2 beautiful boys. A wife to a hard working man (but I work harder!) and a momprenuer. Yes... I am a mom who strives to own her own business that is inspired by my family and mommy friends. Here is a little about me and why I do what I do:

I have been creative all of my life. I remember making headbands with ribbon when I was 7 or so and selling them on the corner of the neighborhood. My mom even drove me to a local store to see if they would like to sell my work. It is amazing how even as a little girl in Orange County, CA I had the passion and ambition to make my own product and sell it to anyone willing to buy. In high school and college, I studied Fashion Design. I loved sewing and being able to create functional items the way I wanted them to be. I always had a vision even though I was sidetracked along the way. Work, marriage,traveling etc. took over and my desire to create seemed to diminish until... my baby boy Trey was born. I picked up sewing again and have never looked back. I started giving out handmade gifts and found that they always received a warm reception. That is when I thought "Maybe I am onto something with this?".

Here we are... Desert Baby is my creative outlet for all to enjoy. My mind has not turned off in over 4 years and I am always thinking of new and better ways to get my product out to every baby, toddler and parent. As a mom of 2 boys, I am sorta partial to lil' men items such as onesies and t-shirts with ties. You won't find any super frilly here at Desert Baby. I love doing custom orders and do my absolute best to please all of my customers.

I work very hard as all moms do. I continue Desert Baby even when I feel like I can't do anymore, because I like to think my babies will learn from me that you can achieve success with anything; just don't give up. Times are tough and so are we. I put every ounce of care and love in what I make and I hope everyone that receives a Desert Baby item can feel that.
